Coonawarra Rail Trail
A flat, sealed path linking Penola with the Coonawarra cellar doors, ideal on foot or by bike between tastings.
Following the route of the old railway, this short trail connects the heritage town of Penola with the heart of the Coonawarra wine strip a few kilometres north.
The path is flat, sealed and easy, threading past vineyards and the terra rossa soil that defines the region. It is the sensible, sober way to move between cellar doors, and a pleasant walk or ride in its own right when the vines colour up in autumn.
